The AIM of the Engineering Technician is to create and maintain production 2-D and 3-D CAD files, create and update manufacturing part numbers in the ERP system, ensure bill of material accuracy, and manage the engineering change workflow. Additionally, the Engineering Technician will play a key role in compliance management and have some vendor responsibility. The Engineering Technician will work directly with the product development and production teams to bring new products to realization and to improve or maintain existing products. Complete and update manufacturing drawings using 2-D and 3-D CAD. Set-up new manufactured part numbers in the ERP system. Quote the manufacturing costs of new products. Verify the manufacturing costs of existing products. Complete product costing exercises. Complete time studies and create manufacturing standards for processes. Manage the engineering change workflow. Draft engineering change notices (ECN) from requests (ECR) with proper documentation and ensure information is communicated to all applicable parties. Update records and control documentation. Assist in compiling information and drafting work instructions, training materials, compliance documents, and other documentation. Assist in managing product compliance.
