About The Position

R&D Interconnect Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician at our Allentown, PA location. The Engineering Technician will be trained to operate and program production equipment such as pick & place and solder paste reflow equipment as well as measurement instruments, learn CAD/CAM tools, assemble elastomeric product, inspect product, and write and follow standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Familiarity with various inspection tools and electronic test/measurement equipment
Ability to solder under a microscope
Familiarity with SPC
Must hold U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Position requires the ability to stand/walk for more than 50% of the workday
Ability to comfortably and competently communicate with engineers, technicians and operators
Good computer skills, fluency with MS Word and Excel
Ability to read, write and clearly communicate in English
Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures
Ability to interpret prints and specifications
Strong attention to detail required
Ability to produce quality work under pressure – in a quick-turn environment
Ability to skillfully utilize a microscope
Moderate physical lifting (up to 40 lbs)

Nice To Haves

Experience with electronic component assembly onto circuit boards is a plus

Responsibilities

Operate manufacturing equipment: set-up, program, operation, and shutdown
Read and interpret work instructions and electronic and printed documents and forms
Plan and execute complex development projects in collaboration with engineers and other technicians and analyze resulting data
Inspect product using microscope and electronic measurement equipment; identify defects and determine root cause of process related issues
Identify and segregate Quality related issues
Solder small components onto PCB’s
Solder under a microscope
Perform rework
Enter data into ERP system
Suggest process improvements and cost reductions
Follow clean room policies, practice 6S principles in order to maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workplace
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
