About The Position

The ideal candidate has engineering or related experience, strong mechanical aptitude, math and geometry skills, and attention to detail. This role involves writing technical work instructions, participating in new product releases, building manufacturing fixtures, resolving problems, assisting engineers, and operating manufacturing equipment. The technician will work independently under general supervision, review production data, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure assemblies meet required tolerances. They will also identify deviations, work safely following PPE requirements, potentially work in a cleanroom, maintain logs, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment and adhere to safety policies
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • CAD familiarity and view configuration management
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Capacity to function effectively in a cross-disciplinary environment
  • Intermediate MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel skills
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stair ladders, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Basic computer skills, working knowledge of an ERP system (Oracle Cloud a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Follow SOP, policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new techniques
  • 2-4+ years engineering or related work experience
  • A.A. Degree or equivalent work experience, or any combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience applying engineering technology theories

Responsibilities

  • Write technical work instructions for manufacturing
  • Participate in release of the new products to manufacturing
  • Build manufacturing fixtures and jigs
  • Resolve problems and make routine recommendations
  • Assist engineers in trouble shooting and modifications
  • Operate manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment
  • Work independently under general supervision
  • Review production data to identify potential areas of non conformance
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, follow schedules, shop instructions or orders, SOPs and any other manufacturing documentation
  • Fit, align, and adjust machines or assemblies to meet required tolerances and product operating requirements
  • Identify deviations that could impact productivity and escalate issues appropriately
  • Work safely and efficiently while following all PPE requirements and participating in safety programs that maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain logs and required documentation using required computer systems
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
