Engineering Technician V

About The Position

Entarian is looking for an Engineering Technician that will report directly to the assigned Project Manager, leads the field technicians in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of multiple physical security system assets and components. Provide direct supervision and participate in the hardware implementation and upgrades as well as redlining of drawings throughout the course of the assigned projects. Conducting site surveys along with the assigned Project Manager. Provide input, and in some cases, write the site survey report. Identifies problems requiring vendor assistance and coordinates vendor technical support. Requires user proficiency with PC hardware, standard software, and specialized applications, and effective oral and written communication skills to explain technical situations, present information, and provide user guidance. Must have knowledge of the office suite and desktop applications. Responds to service requests and to include investigating/troubleshooting when called for. Keeps supervisors informed of service trends. Assists in performing maintenance of site/field equipment, removal of equipment, and aids in the movement or installation of equipment associated with trouble reports at the customer site. Repairs or adjusts equipment at the customer or company site and performs routine maintenance. Provides technical help desk support; interfaces with multiple levels of users, management, to include the government site sponsors and technical staff. Contributes to an environment of teamwork, efficiency, cross training, and continuous improvement. Serves as content expert on services and information provided. Resolves difficult inquiries for other representatives. Leads the site technical team on all aspects of the project.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) Programming used in a U.S. Government Access Control Enforcer (ACE) environment
  • Proven ability to lead a team of Technicians
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Demonstrate the ability to repair drywall
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and execute sophisticated cable management activities
  • Expert in physical security systems such as: Access Controls (ACS), Intrusion Detection (IDS), Closed-Circuity Television (CCTV) and Public Address (PA) systems
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Proven ability to work as the sole resource on a field project
  • Proven ability to package and communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical people through presentations or written material
  • Demonstrated experience in Material Procurement, minimal oversight, safety, status reports, installation, termination, grooming, electrical, communication, video, audio cabling, and federal projects
  • Demonstrate understanding of ACS, IDS, CCTV, PA components and installation requirements to include the ability to plan and execute all phases of the installation as well as troubleshooting to resolution
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior technicians
  • User proficiency with PC hardware, standard software, and specialized applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to explain technical situations, present information, and provide user guidance
  • Knowledge of the office suite and desktop applications

Nice To Haves

  • Extron Associate or Extron Professional Certification
  • Associates degree (in Computer Science, Math or Engineering) or equivalent
  • Experience with Navy Shore Platform Installation Handbook
  • Knowledge of Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) physical security system Access Control Enforcer (ACE) and its integration with ACS
  • Manufacturer certifications if required (Avigilon, DMP, AMAG etc.)
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain a passport
  • 3+ years experience working NIWC-PAC/SPAWAR installation projects
  • 3+ years experience installing and configuring ACE access control systems including configuration
  • Direct experience with any three of the following, Hirsch ACS/IDS, Lenel, Bosch, DMP, HID, AXIS, Avigilon, Cisco
  • DMP panel programming with RemoteLink
