This role involves formulating plans and recommending solutions to the System Program Office (SPO) to mitigate obsolescence issues impacting the Minuteman III Weapon System (MMIII WS) platform, sub-systems, LRUs, and SRUs. The position requires carrying out major assignments from Engineering staff on obsolescence studies, including presenting findings and plans for operational execution to the MMIII stakeholder community. The analyst will provide expert advice to SPO Leadership on the best courses of action for weapon system operations related to government-owned technical data. Responsibilities include accessing, interpreting, and recommending changes to engineering drawings using data repositories, extracting and preparing Technical Orders Illustrated Part breakdown data for the Ark.ai platform, and evaluating drawings to capture complete WS parts intelligence. The role also involves performing analyses and resolution of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) to reduce Mission Capability (MICAP) incidents, back orders, and depot repair awaiting parts (AWPs), thereby increasing systems availability for Air Force managed Weapon systems. Additionally, the analyst will perform technical and logistical analysis, provide detailed technical data to support component replacement, and update analysis and resolution information into the Air Force DMSMS predictive tool.
