About The Position

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Technician with at least 2 years of hands-on experience to support engineering and lab operations. This role is responsible for maintaining lab equipment and tools, building mechanical and plumbing assemblies, and supporting engineering documentation updates. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and experience assembling electro-mechanical systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, performance, and safety prior to release to customers. The Engineering Technician is expected to take ownership of the lab environment and contribute to continuous improvement of building processes and product reliability.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an engineering lab, manufacturing, or prototyping environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills
  • Experience assembling electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Familiarity with common hand tools, power tools, and lab equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification
  • Experience with plumbing systems and fluid handling assemblies
  • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and troubleshooting
  • Experience with CAD tools and redlining drawings

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize engineering lab spaces, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot mechanical assemblies according to engineering specifications
  • Assemble plumbing systems and components, ensuring proper fit, sealing, and functionality
  • Assemble electro-mechanical products, including integration of mechanical and electrical components
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Redline and update drawings and schematics to reflect design changes and as-built conditions
  • Support engineers with prototyping, testing, and validation activities
  • Identify and resolve basic mechanical and assembly issues during builds
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with lab standards
