About The Position

As an Engineering Technician on Mercury Marine's Product Development team, you will focus on new product development and current product improvements of structural components, cooling system components, and exhaust systems for marine applications ranging up to 600 horsepower. Requirements

Associates degree with emphasis in mechanical design or technology.
3 years of experience in fabrication and test of mechanical systems in an R&D lab environment.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Knowledge of, and the ability to use, various computer software programs including Microsoft Office.
Ability to apply sound engineering principles in problem solving.

Nice To Haves

General knowledge of production methods and process requirements as they relate to typical marine component manufacturing.
Familiar with data acquisition hardware and software.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and test mechanical systems with direction provided by Designers and Engineers.
Perform routine engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures.
Create and assist with the development of product specifications and test requirements.
Participate in the development process by testing prototypes and analyzing failures.
Provide test results to the requestor in a clear, concise, written format including photographs.
Build or specify requirements for test fixtures and specialized assembly tools required to meet individual project needs.
Analyze product issues associated with production and warranty.
Complete competitive benchmarking.
