About The Position

Providing services for design, fabrication, installation, integration, and testing of C5ISR systems onto air platforms or ground mobile communications. This role involves constructing components, subunits, or simple models, troubleshooting malfunctions, and following specific diagrams to build and package devices. The technician will conduct various tests and experiments, extract and compile engineering data, and assist in design modifications. Responsibilities also include participating in the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging, performing detailed design tasks using CAD equipment, and conducting on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products. Additionally, the role involves providing technical support to customers, developing test procedures and reports, and assisting with training technical assistants.

Requirements

Associates of applied science in engineering or an engineering related discipline and at least eight years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions
Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment
Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data
Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation
Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information
Participating in design, fabrication, integration, and testing of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototypes
Performing detailed design tasks requiring the application of CAD equipment; designs projects such as simulation, printed circuit boards, and electronic and electrical assemblies requiring development of schematics
Performing on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment
Providing technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
Developing test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment, may conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing
Assisting with training technical assistants including junior level electronics technicians, CAD specialists, support staff, cooperative students, and temporary employees to perform general fabrication, assembly, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks
Establishing procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements, may train laboratory personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
