About The Position

Aerodyne Industries is a dynamic, rapidly growing engineering and information technology services firm headquartered on Florida’s Space Coast, with locations throughout the US. They deliver small business agility with large corporation capabilities, supporting NASA’s Missions to the Moon and Mars, and defending the nation by supporting the Missile Defense Agency and Department of Defense. The COMET contract, which this role supports, provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion MultiPurpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in the applicable area of expertise
  • Required certifications
  • 13 years of related experience and technical training and certification as required across all areas of industry accepted disciplines for the technical support to aerospace systems and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Ability to support all shifts, work at various facilities, and support multiple groups as directed by manager
  • Some experience in Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Ability to pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance
  • Ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions

Nice To Haves

  • A mechanical and/ or electrical background in aviation or aerospace fields is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-routine and complex inspection assignments involving Flight hardware, GSE and the manufacturing of flight and GSE hardware.
  • Inspects major units, devices, or equipment; validates work performed on installations, tests or experiments.
  • Assists in inspection tests to evaluate equipment performance.
  • Demonstrates extensive proficiency within expertise and ability to mentor less experienced technicians and engineers.
  • Under direction of the engineering staff, applies engineering principles and theories in inspecting, testing, and modifying equipment both flight and GSE.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to support 2nd shift, weekends and overtime.
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb stairs and ladders and be able to work in confined space.
