About The Position

CACI is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician IV to support the Bradley Laser Shutter Assembly (LSA)/ Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder (BELRF) Labs Program in the Electro-Optics Technology Division at NSWC Crane. This role provides technical support and comprehensive technical documentation support for the "Expeditionary" family of Electro-Optical Sensor Systems. Responsibilities include testing, repair, screening, evaluation, demilitarization, and disposal of systems, subsystems, equipment, and components. Additionally, the role involves modification, validation & verification (V&V), and procedure development & review for technical documentation. The technician will also assist with the analysis of production costs, manufacturing problems, review of production changes, audits, and the evaluation of design data and potential equipment types.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Must have experience related to repair of electronic devices, component level circuit board repair preferred.
  • AC/DC Circuit Theory and Electrical Components.
  • Troubleshooting Power Supplies and Electric Motors.
  • Laser Alignment.
  • Experience performing diagnostics, parts replacement, software reloading, testing and repair action reporting for Electro-Optic Systems.
  • Experience in reviewing, updating, validating test plans, maintenance procedures and forms.
  • Must have advanced knowledge in lasers (theory and application).
  • Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Global Harmonized System Awareness Training prior to handling Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Awareness and Prevention Training.
  • Must have Computer Skills, experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Proven track record performing a wide variety of complex activities associated with installing, maintaining and servicing electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment.
  • Experience understanding and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in order to return equipment to operational condition and solve problems.
  • After hire, must be actively working toward proficiency equipment and electro-mechanical parts replacement.
  • The Contractor will also be required to participate in the Governments Personnel Qualification System (PQS) Program to document their skill levels.
  • Workload Qualification Records (WQR) include but not limited to: Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Briefing, Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Awareness and Prevention Training, Annual Laser Operator, Annual Safety Refresher Training, Laser Operator Training, Unpack / Pack LSA, Disassembly / LSA reassembly, LSA & Transceiver cleaning, Resonator & Transceiver Alignment, Test Range R&R, Logic Card R&R, Motor R&R, HV Harness, Record Data.
  • Prior to start date, must be enrolled in the NSWC Crane Laser Eye Exam Medical Surveillance Program in accordance with OPNAV 5100.27 for all Class 3B/4 Laser operators.
  • Initial Laser Eye Exam is required prior to performance start date and a final Laser Exam (When exiting the Laser Eye Surveillance Program).
  • Note: All Laser mishaps require an investigation, shall be reported through the appropriate chain of command, and shall require a complete medical exam per BUMEDINST 6470.23

Nice To Haves

  • Current Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is desired.
  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or Laser & Optics Technology is desired.
  • Experience measuring laser energy, divergence and alignment.
  • Current J-STD-001 Solder Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the "Expeditionary" family of Electro-Optical Sensor Systems to include but not limited: U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Bradley Laser Shutter Assembly (LSA)/ Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder (BELRF), Laser assembly and Circuit Card.
  • Testing (Rigorous evaluation of system performance and component functionality), repair (Diagnosis and recertification of malfunctions to ensure optimal system operation.), screening (Assessment of system health and identification of potential issues.), evaluation (Comprehensive analysis of system performance and effectiveness.), demilitarization (Safe and compliant disposal of obsolete or non-repairable equipment.), disposal (Proper and environmentally responsible disposal of all waste materials.), and related services for systems, subsystems, equipment and components and shall be performed using the appropriate procedures provided by the Government.
  • Provide comprehensive technical documentation support for the "Expeditionary" family of Electro-Optical Sensor Systems to include but not limited: U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Bradley LSA/ Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder (BELRF), Laser assembly, Circuit Card.
  • Modification (Updating and revising existing technical documentation to reflect system changes, upgrades, and improvements.), Validation & Verification (V&V) (Conducting thorough reviews and analyses to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness of all technical documentation.), Procedure Development & Review (Assisting in the development and review of procedures related to the operation, maintenance, and support of these systems.).
  • Applicable Test data shall be meticulously documented in accordance with Lab protocols.
  • Assist with the analysis of production costs and manufacturing problems; review production changes, waivers, and deviations; attend quality assurance audits and surveys; and assist in the identification of problems and progress concerning production, costs, and quality assurance.
  • Assist with the review of technical specifications for accuracy in support of procurements in accordance with GFI.
  • Analyze design data to determine defects detracting from equipment, system, or component capability to perform to its intended operational requirements and to satisfy all specification requirements.
  • Review production engineering changes, waivers, deviations, and/or alterations for their impact on performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, quality, safety, and life cycle cost
  • Assist with the evaluation of the design and performance data to make recommendations on strengths and weaknesses of potential equipment types in meeting applicable performance requirements by the Government.
