About The Position

The Engineering Technician III functions as a fully contributing technician with ownership of significant hands‑on technical work. The role independently executes moderately complex to complex technical tasks, interprets engineering documentation, and supports resolution of non‑routine technical issues. Success is demonstrated through reliable execution, accurate documentation, effective problem identification, and meaningful contribution to engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently support complex engineering tests, experiments, and development activities
  • Build, modify, assemble, and troubleshoot prototypes, test fixtures, and engineering equipment
  • Execute non‑routine technical tasks requiring interpretation of drawings, procedures, or specifications
  • Provide hands‑on support for design validation, process development, or product sustainment initiatives
  • Operate advanced test equipment, instrumentation, and measurement tools with minimal direction
  • Collect, verify, analyze, and summarize test and engineering data
  • Identify abnormalities, trends, or failures and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues
  • Support root‑cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions
  • Set up, maintain, and perform advanced troubleshooting of test fixtures and laboratory equipment
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, or repair of engineering equipment as needed
  • Ensure workspaces, tools, and equipment are safe, organized, and production‑ready
  • Ensure work complies with safety requirements, engineering procedures, and quality standards
  • Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, logs, and test records
  • Support audits, reviews, or assessments related to engineering activities
  • Work closely with engineers and cross‑functional teams to support project objectives
  • Communicate technical findings, observations, and recommendations clearly
  • Provide informal mentoring or technical guidance to Engineering Technician I and II employees
