About The Position

Brown Technologies is supporting a government customer at GSFC and seeking an Engineering Technician III with hands-on experience in IT and audiovisual conference room equipment installation, maintenance, and support. The selected candidate will perform technical assignments supporting network and AV infrastructure operations in a high-visibility environment serving VIP customers. This is a temporary position through 12/31/2026 with an immediate start date.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • AA or AS degree with 4 years of related experience OR High School diploma with 6 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to resolve situations in a professional manner
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Licensed driver qualified to operate GSA-owned vehicles, including 12" box trucks
  • Must be on-site at GSFC during business hours

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 70-volt indoor/outdoor Public Address (PA) systems
  • Experience with Crestron, AMX, Cisco, or similar conferencing devices
  • Experience supporting IT and AV equipment in a government or VIP environment

Responsibilities

  • Install, cable, support, and maintain IT equipment and audiovisual conference room equipment for both legacy and new installations
  • Evaluate and recommend necessary product maintenance activities and upgrades
  • Perform technical analyses of conference room software, hardware, and transmission equipment using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient operations
  • Monitor data traffic and control network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, professionalism, and end-user support to a large VIP customer base
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and ongoing patching of conference room equipment
  • Support root cause analysis activities for conference room incidents
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of PC hardware and software, including conference room displays, controllers, Crestron devices, AMX, Cisco, and other conferencing devices
  • Resolve work orders for Network, VOIP, and conference room equipment
  • Resolve incidents according to service level agreements for IT and AV equipment
  • Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures and solve problems using experience, judgment, and precedents
  • Work within established guidelines and policies with a moderate level of guidance and direction
  • Utilize existing knowledge while building additional knowledge of the company, client, and processes
  • Communicate effectively across all levels, from Level 1 technicians to VIP customer stakeholders
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communication throughout all interactions
