About The Position

This role develops, launches and sustains complex CNC milling processes, independently delivering safe, capable, compliant and cost-effective solutions. The Senior CNC Programmer will independently own complete multi-axis milling solutions from manufacturability review through CAD/CAM programming, post processing, machine setup, prove-out, FAI, validation, release and production. They will program and optimize complex 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling processes using advanced G/M code, Macro B and Siemens and/or Fanuc control language, and diagnose complete process and machine issues. This role leads CNC activities for new-product and process improvements, delivering on schedule, quality, capacity and cost targets with minimal intervention or rework. The Senior CNC Programmer provides expert hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis for CNC mills and related automation, probing, laser tool-setting and multi-axis systems. They develop and implement cutting-tool, holder and fixture strategies, demonstrating advanced tool/fixture design capability and collaborating effectively with designers, suppliers and equipment builders. This role drives equipment requirements, machine selection, vendor acceptance, installation, alignment and qualification, independently interfacing with vendors and contributing technical recommendations to site and customer manufacturing discussions. Additionally, they establish and share CAD/CAM and machining best practices, deliver meaningful cost and productivity improvements, and formally mentor lower-level technicians, programmers and operators. The Senior CNC Programmer partners across Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, prioritizes multiple assignments, communicates technical decisions, and completes projects on time and with high quality. They act as a role model for Machine Operators in terms of attitude, machine asset care, troubleshooting, adherence to processes and decision making.
