About The Position

The Engineering Technician II, under close supervision of a technical lead or unit supervisor, performs a variety of basic or routine tasks during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Basic working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
• Basic planning/organizing skills.
• Ability to take direction from senior unit personnel and work under deadlines.
• Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.
• Must have a valid, current state driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience performing tasks related to the work unit is desired.

Responsibilities

• Supports production of technical documents and drawings.
• Researches technical issues for input to reports and studies.
• Supports fabrication and testing of hardware and software systems.
• Assists in design, coding, and documentation of software products.
• Maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
• Assists work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
• Complies with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures.
• Uses established policies and procedures and limited subject matter knowledge to complete relatively simple assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence.
• Performs related work as required.
