About The Position

This is a hands-on Engineering Technician position on the 2nd shift. Primarily responsible for assisting in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for the manufacturing of night vision systems. Includes optimization of manufacturing processes, implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination), and review/disposition of night vision systems and components. A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment. Candidate must have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers. Additionally, the candidate will be versed in Lean tools and their application to reduce waste. The individual can expect to spend >70% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor. Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A 2-year associate's degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or equivalent relatable experience is required.
  • 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to support the organizational culture and build morale.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies, and Procedures.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with review/inspection and troubleshooting of electronics assemblies.

  • Experience in Conformance Testing to Mil-Stds.
