About The Position

This role involves performing build and tests of modules and systems in the integration phase up to final system, including calibration and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical modules. The technician will be responsible for the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. They will determine and potentially develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams. The role includes testing and troubleshooting assemblies and/or final systems, and may involve rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. The technician will prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. Additionally, they may assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment and are responsible for system on-spec performance and final test quality. The position may require assistance in Field installation/upgrade activity and system NPI. The role may also involve assigned Focal Roles for Manufacturing support functions, specifically the Shipping, Receiving Totting (SRT) Focal. The SRT Focal is responsible for creating and maintaining the “As Shipped” Bill Of Materials (BOM) configuration for production shipments, including disassembling, packaging, and toting systems and Non Standard Orders (NSOs) for shipment. This includes creating and maintaining BOMs due to Change Request Forms and Engineering Specification Ws, collaborating with Project Managers, Manufacturing Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineers on new parts and assemblies, and refining product shipment configurations with Shipping. The SRT Focal also provides support for technical issues with SRT workstations and software, acts as an expert/superuser in SRT software operation, and creates/maintains knowledge bases and models for different products in SRT. A strong knowledge of the ERP system is also required for research on shipments and discrete jobs.

  • Ability to determine and develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting assemblies and/or final systems.
  • Ability to complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
  • Experience assisting in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
  • Responsibility for system on spec performance and final test quality.
  • Experience assisting in Field installation /upgrade activity and system NPI.
  • Experience as a Shipping, Receiving Totting (SRT) Focal responsible for creating and maintaining the “As Shipped” Bill Of Materials (BOM) configuration for production shipments.
  • Experience creating BOMs which define how systems and Non Standard Orders (NSOs) are disassembled, packaged and toted for shipment.
  • Experience with the creation and maintenance of BOMs due to Change Request Forms and Engineering Specification Ws.
  • Experience collaborating with Project Managers, Manufacturing Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers in determining requirements for new parts and assemblies.
  • Experience collaborating with Shipping in refining and optimizing product shipment configurations.
  • Experience providing support for technical issues involved with SRT workstations and software operation.
  • Expert/Superuser in the operation of AMAT developed SRT software.
  • Experience creating and maintaining the knowledge bases and models for the different products in SRT.
  • Strong knowledge of the ERP system to perform research on shipments and discrete jobs.
