Requirements

  • Proficient in assembling and testing moderately complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Passionate about being a part of the delivery of world class manufacturing quality.
  • Eager to learn and deploy quality best known methods within manufacturing.
  • Ability to influence and gain consensus by leveraging technical experience.
  • Action oriented and thrives in dynamic and fast pace environment.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks
  • Familiarity with basic lean tools and concepts
  • Has a good understanding of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives
  • May provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members
  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures

  • Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information

Responsibilities

  • Vet and document quality improvement ideas; gain consensus from all shifts before presenting the improvement idea to key stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Operations) for buy-in
  • Collaborate with manufacturing quality engineer to perform internal audits; perform the audit at the work-cell level and execute quick wins from the corrective and preventative actions identified. These may be 6s, lean or compliance to standard audits
  • When 8D scenarios arise, execute containment of work in-progress, WIP, and inventory within manufacturing. These maybe led by engineering in conjunction with Supplier quality representatives when applicable.
  • Be a voice of quality within work-cells; as needed, train new or junior technicians to perform critical to quality tasks
  • Act as first line of defense for non-conformances; document event, preliminarily assess root cause and propose corrective and prevention actions, CAPA
  • Aid in maintaining logical to physical match of non-conforming material, as they are moved into Material Review Board, MRB, work area
