Engineering Technician II, Test Operations (Contract)

Engineering technicians at Lunar Energy support the day-to-day execution of engineering operations for our home energy products. Requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits; comfortable with teardown/inspection work and spotting anomalies
- Strong communicator, asks questions readily and is comfortable flagging issues
- Must be able to complete HV/LV safety training; a healthy respect (and appropriate caution) around electronics is required
- Experience building test harnesses
- Experience operating environmental chambers and various types of test equipment
- Comfortable operating Python scripts/using a terminal
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics
- Experience with home batteries, solar, or general home electrical/electrician work
Responsibilities
- Monitor ongoing testing
- Take pre- and post-test photos and conduct functional inspections of DUTs, with training from test engineers
- Run test scripts, swap equipment between runs and support minor repairs (e.g. swapping an inverter or battery blocks)
- Support offsite testing as needed
- Tag DUTs and maintain post-test inventory, ensuring it gets flushed out regularly
- Keep test benches, equipment, and labels organized, take ownership of lab cleanliness and upkeep
- Maintain inventory of common lab equipment and order/make more things as needed
- Flag equipment issues or process improvements to the engineering team
