About The Position

Saalex is seeking an Engineering Technician I in Ridgecrest, CA to provide entry-level technical support for the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of electronic and mechanical equipment and systems. Working under the close supervision of a technical lead or unit supervisor, the Engineering Technician I will assist with routine engineering assignments, technical documentation, testing activities, project tracking, and customer coordination. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual interested in developing hands-on experience within a technical engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applications.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and take direction from senior personnel.
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately while working within established deadlines.
  • Strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation, records, and project information.
  • Ability to comply with applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • US Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands-on experience supporting engineering, electronics, mechanical equipment, fabrication, testing, maintenance, or other technical activities.
  • Experience preparing or maintaining technical documents, drawings, databases, logs, or inventory records.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation standards, system specifications, or test procedures.
  • Experience working in a government contracting, military, aerospace, test-range, or technical operations environment.
  • Relevant technical training, vocational education, certifications, or hands-on experience related to the assigned work unit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, and operation of electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of technical documents, drawings, reports, studies, databases, logs, and project records.
  • Research technical issues and compile information for reports and engineering studies.
  • Assist with the fabrication, testing, and documentation of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide basic support for the design, coding, and documentation of software products.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems, databases, inventory records, and project-status logs.
  • Support onsite communication and coordination with customers during equipment installation, testing, fabrication, and related engineering activities.
  • Follow engineering plans, documentation standards, system specifications, test procedures, and established policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
