About The Position

This position is an Engineering Technician I position located in Division 10 involving technical work supporting technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. This position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. You must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping. Multiple positions will be filled from this posting.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Safety toe shoes required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and /or construction surveying
  • Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
  • Experience in maintaining neat, legible and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry
  • Experience Working in a team environment to complete assignments
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, iPad and software
  • Experience in customer service and interacting with the general public
