About The Position

SDMyers is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join our Engineered Products team. This role supports the production, testing, documentation, and ongoing improvement of engineered products while providing technical assistance to customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate is technically minded, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working in a collaborative manufacturing environment. This position works closely with engineers, fabrication personnel, and customers to ensure products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and revise schematics and construction drawings
  • Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of manufacturing, production, or engineering support experience preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Familiarity with GRID, SIMA, and GP Viewer is a plus
  • Experience monitoring project budgets and interacting with vendors is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain job folders, construction drawings, testing records, manuals, and project documentation
  • Order parts and track production activities
  • Support equipment production and communicate with fabrication personnel on the shop floor
  • Assist with products including DryMax®, SampleSafe®, and Guardian® systems
  • Provide customer support and monthly service updates
  • Track production, transmitter, and rental equipment data and provide recommendations
  • Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all products
  • Support proposal development and technical documentation
  • Follow and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with troubleshooting and testing of in-house equipment
  • Participate in product development activities including component specification, construction, testing, documentation, and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Engineers and other members of the Engineered Products team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
