About The Position

We are looking for an Engineering Technician I to join our Operational Technology (OT) Development and Implementation team. In this entry-level role, you will help maintain, support, and secure our critical SCADA system. You will learn the basic hands-on skills, tools, and procedures needed for this specialized field. This position involves performing routine, clear-cut tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and either two years of accredited college or university in engineering related coursework or two years of relevant experience.
  • General Required Knowledge of: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry; design principles; technical research, analysis and report preparation; and current office equipment and technology.
  • Corrosion Required Knowledge of: Corrosion science.
  • Maintenance Management Required Knowledge of: Maintenance planning practices.
  • General Required Skills and Abilities to: Perform calculations; read plans, specifications and drawings; use current office equipment and technology; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.
  • Corrosion Required Skills and Ability to: Learn to test and assess infrastructure and equipment.
  • Maintenance Management Required Skills and Ability to: Learn and assist with maintenance planning processes and practices.
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in responding to OT cybersecurity alerts and coordinate with Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC).
  • Escalate alerts to subject matter experts, communicate alert statuses to stakeholders, and facilitate resolution of cybersecurity alerts.
  • Responsible for following asset management policies and procedures to ensure database contains only authorized assets and addressing any unauthorized assets identified.
  • Maintain and track spare hardware inventory of SCADA.
  • Learn and assist with configuration, maintenance, and support for SCADA.
  • Assist with analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving SCADA system issues.
  • Learn and assist with deployment of OT equipment, including installation, patching, configuration, support, and maintenance.
