About The Position

The Engineering Technician I (ET-I), under the direction of the Cell Supervisor, is responsible in detailing, which involves drafting and modeling, of basic structural steel components. An ET-I must develop and utilize knowledge of High Steel fabrication and shop requirements to produce various detail drawings; develop proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings and in applying company standards and various owner specifications for completion of detailing assignments; and work and communicate effectively within a team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated competence in algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Basic proficiency with 2-D drafting or 3-D modeling software is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to work well within a team atmosphere, and an attention to detail.
  • Aptitude to gain an understanding of various company information and technical systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating system (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree in a related technical field is preferred.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting contract plans and other technical documents related to structural steel fabrication preferred.
