About The Position

BlueScope Buildings North America's Engineering department provides safe, innovative, and high-quality structural and construction engineering solutions. The Engineering Technician performs detailing activities on assigned projects and meets schedule and accuracy requirements. The role supports the engineering team by translating engineering designs and project specifications into precise drawings and fabrication plans, helping ensure clear, efficient, and standards-compliant construction documents. The technician also supports production and project execution by releasing parts into the manufacturing system, collaborating with project teams, and maintaining schedules. The position contributes to department objectives, profitability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

An associate degree or two-year technical degree, or two additional years of relevant experience.
Strong technical and communication skills.
Ability to solve problems and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed drawings and fabrication plans based on engineering designs and project specifications.
Create erection drawings, approval drawings, permit drawings, and anchor rod layouts.
Upload, edit, and release parts into the manufacturing system for production.
Continuously develop technical expertise and knowledge of products, materials, and industry standards.
Work with project teams to identify challenges, propose solutions, and support cost-effective, efficient project execution.
Maintain project schedules to meet customer needs and provide high-quality service.
Contribute to department objectives, profitability goals, and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance team.
