About The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineering Technician (Facilities)-Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The hourly range of this position is $35.64 - $52.76/hour and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department’s E3 facility is the center of excellence in aircraft E3 Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation. Our state-of-the-art laboratories specializes in a variety of capabilities, ranging from box level to complete system level testing. The E3 vision is to be dedicated to improving current and future DoD Test & Evaluation capabilities; in simulation of operational and threat environments, high-energy physics and directed energy weapons by empowering the workforce to approach solutions from outside of the box. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of relevant work experience
  • The ability to work 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 12:00 PM) after completing a mandatory day shift training period (3-month estimate)
  • 3 years of experience working on aircrafts
  • Experience using hand tools to support team project builds
  • Experience working with computers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • The ability to work overtime when required by testing schedule
  • The ability to be proactive and seek out tasking to support team
  • The ability to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude
  • Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): N/A
  • The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an Engineering Technician in the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV, Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) group supporting facilities
  • Provides operations and maintenance support for Hangar 144 (shielded Hangar), the Aircraft Anechoic Test Facility (AATF) and the Advanced System Integration Laboratory (ASIL)
  • Assists with coordinating, scheduling and providing for Test Project Engineers’ aircraft, facility use and Support Equipment (SE) needs
  • Delivers GSE to the Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) for preventative or unscheduled maintenance
  • Schedules and obtains GSE from FRC for project support
  • Maintains fueling ground support equipment
  • Assists in aircraft fueling operations
  • Purges aircraft
  • Connects/Operates GSE carts for aircraft operation
  • Operates government equipment such as forklift, man lift, tug and other equipment
  • Assists with crane rigging
  • Conducts facilities maintenance
