About The Position

The Engineering Technician D is a highly developed technical contributor who performs advanced work across electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical systems, with a strong emphasis on testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and system performance verification. In this role, you will independently support the design, construction, integration, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and maintenance of equipment, components, devices, and systems. Working from schematics, engineering drawings, manuals, test procedures, and written or verbal instructions, you will use a wide range of test and diagnostic equipment to identify issues, analyze system behavior, isolate root causes, and verify proper operation and performance. This is an experienced role requiring strong judgment, initiative, and problem-solving ability to resolve complex technical issues and support reliable system performance. You will conduct detailed test activities, interpret results, recommend corrective actions, and contribute to solutions that enhance manufacturing, engineering, and test operations. In addition, you will mentor junior technicians, provide technical recommendations, and apply advanced hands-on technical expertise to improve troubleshooting methods, test effectiveness, and overall team performance in a mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, repair, and maintenance across electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical systems.
  • Diagnose complex issues, isolate faults, and verify system performance using engineering documentation, test procedures, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct calibration, alignment, and functional checks; make required adjustments or component replacements; and document results accurately in prescribed formats.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to lower-level technicians on tasks and technical approaches.
  • Recommend solutions to technical issues, applying judgment and initiative to resolve complex challenges.
