About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Indianapolis, IN. This role offers a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Entry level position, no prior experience is required
Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required.
Applicant should be physically able to work outdoors and maneuver a wheelbarrow of concrete several times during the course of a day.

Nice To Haves

Engineering background through education is preferred but not required.
Other certifications, such as: ACI, NICET, or INDOT are also welcome but not required.
BS Degree in an engineering field
1-2 years' experience

Responsibilities

Perform materials testing and inspection services for commercial construction projects.
Test concrete during placement and soil during mass earthwork.
Perform support tests on concrete and soil in the laboratory.
Travel to project sites, with potential for short-term overnight travel.
Participate in sampling and perform field testing of concrete, soils, and asphalt during construction activities.
Prepare written reports summarizing test results and corresponding action items.
Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and the design team to report findings, schedule testing, and provide recommendations.
Participate in monthly safety meetings and online safety training courses.
Pick up test samples that were either previously cast or stockpiled for sampling.
