About The Position

This entry-level, onsite position supports the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy’s East Coast open air test range and provides real-time flight test operations support including data acquisition services to DoD customers. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technician I: 1 year of experience performing the same or similar function. In lieu of 1 year of work experience, 12 semester hours of college courses related to the field, or 1 year in a trade/tech school of similar function can be substituted.
  • Apprentice: Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or university
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and may at times need to research solutions independently
  • Must be flexible and team oriented
  • Must be able to travel 50-75% of the time on trips lasting anywhere from a few days up to a month
  • Must be able to work frequent overtime as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass drug screening
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support local and remote real-time test flights
  • Troubleshoot telemetry antenna and supporting instrumentation issues in real-time
  • Operate and maintain Antenna Telemetry Acquisition Systems (ATAS) and Telemetry Acquisition Systems (TAS)
  • Operate oscilloscopes/spectrum analyzers/receivers/transmitters
  • Obtain knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and application
  • Work with basic hand/power tools
  • Learn from senior technicians
