About The Position

The Airborne Focus Factory of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems located in Rochester, New York, is looking for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join the assembly and integration team. Individuals should be familiar with various precision manufacturing techniques used to fabricate, integrate and validate optics. Additional activities may include performing optical testing such as MTF, EFL, Distortion and Concentricity. Members work in engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, procedures, process specifications, schematics, sketches or verbal instructions.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
Experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
Must be able to read engineering drawings/blue prints/schematics and detailed work instructions.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
Able to be certified to IPC JSTD or comparable NASA certifications.
Lean Manufacturing practices.
Aerospace or Defense industry experience.

Responsibilities

Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel.
