About The Position

As an Engineering Technician at MKS, you will play an important role in supporting our engineering and service teams. You will work closely with Test Engineering and Global Service Operations to build, improve, and troubleshoot equipment used around the world. This is a hands-on position where you will help design, assemble, test, and improve test systems while solving real-world technical challenges. If you enjoy working with both electrical and mechanical systems and take pride in finding practical solutions, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.S.) in Engineering Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in an Engineering Technician or similar technical role.
  • Experience assembling and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems. Preferably vacuum related products.
  • Proficiency with common hand tools such as soldering irons, drills, and saws.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside engineers to build, test, and improve solutions to technical challenges.
  • Conducting research, detailed experimental testing, and collecting data to write reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing expert technical support to engineering, technical support engineering, and global service operations.
  • Performing operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to ensure quality.
  • Assisting in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Supporting the design, build, test, and check-out of test equipment to ensure accuracy.
