About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Engineering Technician 4 – Manufacturing Planner to our team at Whiteman AFB in Missouri! This position will take part in engineering solutions to deploy and deliver a state-of-the-art system to our customer and provide advanced technological ideas and subject matter expertise. This position is 100% on site at our Whiteman Air Force Base, MO location and will support either the 1st shift (6:30am - 3:00pm) OR the 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience with the design, build, operation, or maintenance of structural, mechanical, and electrical components or assemblies.
  • Experience in researching technical issues through engineering drawing review, database records queries, and theory of operation.
  • Ability to create work instructions.
  • Current, active in-scope US Government Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computer aided design / modeling tools.
  • Hands on experience working with electrical, electronic, structural, or mechanical parts or assemblies.
  • Experience with wire harness manufacturing and assembly.
  • Proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • New manufacturing technology development experience.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 modeling and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with 3D printing technology.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret wire harness, detail, subassembly, and installation drawings and specifications to support production technicians/electricians/mechanics.
  • Develop sequence of operations and specify procedures for aircraft modifications and subcomponent fabrication and assembly.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Adapt machine, tooling, or equipment design to optimize efficiency and integrate with existing operations.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into aircraft modification plans and subcomponent production plans.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency; investigate problems and deficiencies and document/communicate to engineering.
  • Specify, identify, and procure new manufacturing equipment to ensure production readiness.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in training employees in new and existing manufacturing processes.
