About The Position

This role involves performing sample preparation tasks required before loading samples into STEM tools. These tasks may include ALD coatings, application of other protective coatings, identifying and marking areas of interest based on a schematic, resizing samples, and similar activities. The technician will follow fixed procedures and repeat them with a wide variety of sample configurations. Additionally, the role includes organizing shipments of microscopy materials to external labs, performing sample intake and outgoing procedures (screening for physical and digital quality, photographing contents), and identifying and setting aside samples that do not meet lab submission expectations. Customer service is also a part of this role. Successful and tenured technicians may have the opportunity to pursue a career in electron microscopy within the group.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree, technical certificate, or higher in a discipline relevant to the semiconductor industry such as Microelectronics Technology, Physics/Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience in the semiconductor industry, especially handling silicon wafers, processing wafers in fab tools, cleaving wafers into coupons, and identifying features of interest based on a wafer schematic.
