Requirements

  • Experience as an Electrical/Electronic Technician with a strong background in circuit theory and the ability to troubleshoot numerous types of systems and equipment controls and power circuits.
  • Needs to possess initiative and self-motivation to resolve technical problems quickly.
  • Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong organizational abilities and communication skills are required to maintain effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Must be able to work with numerous Engineers and Technicians in the Equipment Engineering Department as well as across other departments in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Electrical/Electronic Technician with a high degree of autonomy is required.
  • Proficiency in understanding schematics (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic) with systematic problem solving analysis.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, soldering, panel assembly, routing conduits, termination of conductors, and mechanical fabrication and assembly.
  • Proficiency with test equipment including DVM’s, Oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Able to create or update existing documentation whether as redlines or computer generated.
  • Must be willing to understand and learn the Manufacturing Process as well as numerous types of machinery which have many types of Engineering Disciplines including, Electrical, Electronic, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Vacuum, Mechanical, etc.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, Refugee, or Temporary Resident granted amnesty.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or equivalent is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety concepts related to NFPA 70E and Cal-OSHA is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Enclosure Fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technician support for Manufacturing Equipment and Systems during scheduled work hours and as well as some off-hour support.
  • Assist and lead in troubleshooting, problem analysis, data collection, and training on complex Manufacturing Equipment.
  • Provide detailed and up to date documentation of electrical systems including schematics, assemblies, BOM, and CAD documentation.
  • Be willing to travel on occasion to support existing off-site operations and for qualification of new equipment.
