This role provides essential support to production by resolving equipment, process, and technical issues to maintain optimal operational states. The Engineering Technician 3 will offer daily support for repairs, installations, and regular maintenance within their assigned area, contributing to operational excellence. They will also provide diagnostic leadership and floor support to operations for production-related issues. A key aspect of this role involves developing methods for the prevention, control, and remediation of equipment issues and safety hazards. The technician will also be responsible for writing and maintaining engineering specifications, bills of material, product and engineering change notifications, and deviations in coordination with other engineering staff. Additionally, they will create or update engineering electronic drawing files and specifications using CAD software, and collaborate with Engineers on tests, prototype builds, and data collection. The role includes preparing samples and coordinating testing with regulatory agencies, and providing support as assigned by the Engineering team. Data gathering and maintenance for downtime-causing issues are crucial, along with prioritizing actions for corrective measures. The technician will set up production equipment, manage changeovers, and improve equipment up-times. Documenting PM plans and execution, maintaining their effectiveness, and critically evaluating them are also part of the responsibilities. Developing creative and cost-focused solutions to engineering tasks to improve processes and documenting process changes are essential. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate equipment documentation, supporting the development of new processes, equipment, and procedures to enhance cycle time, quality, and assembly performance are key. The role also involves supporting the design, fabrication, and maintenance of assembly tooling, fixtures, and hardware. Defining critical spare parts quarterly based on production experience is required. Inspecting equipment and processes for flaws, identifying improvement areas, and potential future product enhancements are also expected. The technician will carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and alignment of diverse systems. Finally, they will be capable of designing system improvements based on continuous improvement observations and documenting these changes using CAD/Prints and schematics. Other duties as assigned.
