Provides technical support to engineers and trades on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results, engineering design changes, and coating records and metrics. Performs detailed reviews on critically coated paint records to applicable technical work documents (NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32, Drawings, Procedures, Inspection Reports, ASTM-F718’s, Manufacturer product data sheets, etc.). Uses personal computer for analyses and development of documentation/reports. Conducts tests and records data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Performs audits and assists in problem resolution for CAR responses. Produces reports to aid all parties involved in the process (Trades, Subcontractors Engineering, Program, Sup ship, etc.). Identifies and communicates E4749 deficiencies within paint records to ensure all administrative and technical issues are adjudicated. Navigates the electronic paint record database (E4749). Interprets and understands Paint Schedules, IR’s, Quality Assurance Instructions, and Standard Shipbuilding Work Instructions. Identifies technical deficiencies on E4749 (e.g., Cure Time/HI DFT/High Mills). Possesses strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for daily interaction with SOST, Trades, and Engineering to communicate and rectify deficiencies. Utilizes SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) to generate reports for Management, Trades, Engineering, and SOS outlining current status and potential issues that may delay Key Events. Provides assistance to Sup Ship and Trades to help certify/close critically coated E4749 paint records.
