Job Description: We are seeking a Configuration Technician (Engineering Technician 2) to support the bring-up of switches and routers in our Sunnyvale, CA office (on-site, 5 days per week). In this role, you will be responsible for installing hardware and software on networking devices and preparing them for testing and validation. You will work closely with teams including EMC Test, Thermal Test, MDVT, EDVT, and Power Test to ensure systems are properly configured and operational.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience as an Engineering Technician
  • Hands-on experience with electronic components, lab equipment
  • Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical systems
  • Familiarity with SW and HW installation
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data tracking)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in IT, Electronics, or related field
  • Command line interfaces, Troubleshooting configuration issues
  • Network setup (IP addressing, cabling, switches)
  • understanding of Fiber optic modules
  • Experience with hardware validation, bring-up, or NPI (New Product Introduction)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (UL, CE, or FCC compliance)
  • Exposure to automation or test scripting tools (LabVIEW, MATLAB)

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and modify electrical prototypes and test setups
  • Install and configure switches and routers
  • Assist engineers in design verification and product development cycles
  • Load operating systems, drivers, and required applications
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and lab procedures
  • Support debugging and root cause analysis for product failures
