About The Position

KBR's Mission Engineering Division provides advanced technical solutions and support to the U.S. Department of Defense, focusing on areas like modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. As a key partner in mission technology, KBR is dedicated to developing innovative solutions. The company emphasizes data security, privacy, and responsible information management. KBR is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to join its Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS) team, assisting with the coordination and execution of new installations. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Lexington Park, MD // St. Inigoes, MD at Webster Field.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active/current Secret Clearance.
  • Option 1: AS degree in Engineering Technology or related field, OR military technical training program, OR completion of technical institute program & 1-2+ years of experience.
  • Option 2: High School Diploma or GED & 4+ years of experience in a related role.
  • Must be able to move, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to climb towers for installs.
  • Must be able to travel for work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to travel on a frequent basis to locations CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Familiarity with Group 1, 2, and 3 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
  • Experience working with Navy entities such as NAVFAC, N6, BCO, Physical Security, and CNIC.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of existing installed C-sUAS systems.
  • Support testing and evaluation of C-sUAS systems at Webster Field.
  • Assemble or construct simple or standard equipment or parts following specific instructions.
  • Service or repair simple instruments or equipment.
  • Conduct a variety of tests using established methods.
  • Prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment, and record test data, noting deviations.
  • Extract engineering data from various sources and process it using basic algebra and geometry.
  • Present data in prescribed formats.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot electronic components including Servers, Network Switches, Power Supplies, RF Antennas, and electronic enclosures.
  • Troubleshoot and identify outages with C-sUAS Operators and leadership from U.S. Navy and other stakeholders.
  • Execute mitigating actions for identified outages.
