About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician 2 to perform a variety of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies. This role will support armament systems at our Plymouth, MN site. In this role, you will work from diagrams and technical drawings to build modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables using precision hand/power tools, jigs, and saws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent & 2 years of related experience in hand soldering or assembling electronic components within a manufacturing setting
  • Active IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and communicate effectively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in hand soldering, including inspection, complex re-work/repair, and utilizing various specialized soldering tools and equipment.
  • Advanced ability to understand, interpret, and attention to detail to technical documents on electro-mechanical work.
  • Proficiency with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Willingness to be trained to work on explosive assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on complex electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies.
  • Work directly from engineering diagrams, technical drawings, and initial layouts.
  • Conduct continuity checks on in-process and completed work, perform quality inspections.
  • Disassemble, modify, re-work, re-assemble, and test assemblies under simulated conditions.
