About The Position

ProSidian seeks an Engineering & Technical Support Specialist I | Engineering and Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) for Program Support on an Exempt Basis for Working On-Site (Client Site) in The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Area (Aiken, South Carolina). This is a Contract Contingent role, generally located across the Aiken, South Carolina Across The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region supporting a High-hazard nuclear cleanup environment requiring disciplined staffing, safety, quality, security, and regulatory compliance. The role is aligned with GSA Labor Category: Applied Engineer 1 and is principally focused on ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Engineering and Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) Solutions and Services. We seek candidates with relevant Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Experience to support professional services engagement for clients such as SRMC. This is a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) role, however, ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. The position provides services and support as an Engineering & Technical Support Specialist I aligned with the Engineering and Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Industry Sector. This role focuses on Human Capital | Project Management | Engineering | Environmental | Compliance | Risk Management | IT Effectiveness | Business Process | Training Knowledge Management Solutions for clients such as Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) | SRMC Supply Chain / Procurement supporting the Liquid Waste Program under DOE prime contract 89303322DEM000068. The role is generally located in Aiken, South Carolina and across the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region, working On-Site (Client Site). The Engineering and Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) provides services and solutions as a ProSidian Engagement Team Member, supporting engineering activities through planning, analysis, coordination, documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder support. The role turns technical expertise into safe, practical support for facility operations, maintenance programs, and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or technical discipline; OR Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical discipline and 1+ year work experience preferably in operations, operations support, maintenance, Engineering, or technical field OR; Associate's degree in an Engineering or technical discipline and 3+ years related operations, operations support, maintenance or Engineering experience OR; High school diploma and 5+ years related operations, operations support, or maintenance experience OR: General understanding and familiarity with electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics and various computer applications may be required depending upon the position and specific duties.
  • Primarily focused on Management and Financial Consulting, Acquisition and Grants Management Support, and Business Program and Project Management Services initiatives and aligned with Program Support activities Engineering and Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) Functional Area Activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Conceptual understanding of various facility processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of site work control procedures and practices for both maintenance and operations.
  • General understanding of work hazards, safety programs, operating configuration and lockout/hold identification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task. Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition.
  • Performs limited Engineering activities based on practical experience, typically responsible for a narrow scope of Engineering responsibilities under general supervision.
  • Develops well defined Engineering specifications for process, operations, calibration, material and test equipment, installed or portable process instrumentation, or functional area systems under general supervision.
  • Develops, reviews, and implements operating and calibration procedures and standards when experience allows.
  • Performs routine equipment, facility, or area walk downs to conduct equipment maintenance inspections while documenting equipment and facility measurement control data, configuration, and other equipment details to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation and inventory.
  • Oversees standard installation of new equipment, major equipment modifications, and various other major equipment issues which support processes, calibration, measuring, or site operations.
  • Contributes to technical reviews on proposed operations, calibration, or measuring equipment modifications.
  • Provides technical support to operations and maintenance technicians and other personnel as requested.
  • May coordinate new and/or repaired equipment testing with Engineering and maintenance organizations prior to field installation.
  • May monitor a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of the technical aspects of emergency, fire, security, safety, environmental, regulatory compliance, nuclear material accountability, Engineering schedules, and maintenance surveillance programs among others.
