About The Position

Corteva Agriscience LLC is seeking an Engineering Tech / Reliability Technician for a long-term, onsite position in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is crucial for sustaining and driving Corteva's reliability goals, focusing on the reliability of systems and equipment, critical equipment identification, failure analysis, mechanical integrity, and change management. The technician will collaborate with project managers and facility engineers to ensure all reliability components are properly documented and managed, particularly concerning asset tagging, spare parts, and preventative maintenance plans. The position involves executing reliability projects, collecting and analyzing equipment reliability data, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing various non-destructive testing and inspections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (e.g. eMaint, Maximo).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve efficient results.
  • Able and willing to walk site premises and climb ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • 1+ years of facility, manufacturing or power plant maintenance experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in maintenance/reliability (i.e. developing job plans, optimizing preventative maintenance).
  • Good working knowledge of facility equipment (i.e. air handlers, boilers, chillers, rotating equipment, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret technical vendor literature (i.e. Installation, Maintenance and Operation manuals) and transfer this information independently and effectively to critical work processes.
  • Working knowledge of piping systems and tools, including design criteria and standards, applicable codes and standards, P&ID, basic piping stress knowledge, Pipe specifications & materials, and construction techniques.
  • Working knowledge of piping and instrument drawings, schematics and equipment drawings.
  • Knowledgeable of standard reliability best practices and principles: i.e. RCM, FMEA, preventative/predictive technologies.
  • Able to use standard Microsoft applications - Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Great time management skills including the ability to manage a substantial work load.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and desire to expand knowledge.
  • Focused on delivering effective, usable results.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in an Engineering/Reliability/Industrial Maintenance or related field or willingness to obtain a degree.
  • Reliability certification, e.g. CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or willingness to obtain a certification.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and drive Corteva reliability goals including but not limited to reliability of systems and equipment, critical equipment identification and tracking, failure mode and effects analysis, mechanical integrity and change management requirements.
  • Work with project managers and facility engineers to ensure all reliability components are appropriately accounted for and documented in accordance with maintenance and operational requirements, especially in regard to asset tagging, spare parts, and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Execute reliability projects utilizing internal resources and outside contractors.
  • Collect and analyze data on equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform non-destructive testing/inspections utilizing ultrasound, infrared, vibration, motion amplification, oil analysis, and motor current analyzers.
  • Maintain technical expertise through seminars, trade journals, and contacts with various vendors and industry groups/associations.
  • Provide technical support and training to other Corteva departments and functions to ensure site reliability.
  • Serve as resource for data entry into CMMS (i.e. Maximo) for asset management: i.e. new assets, job plans, spare parts, failure reporting.
  • Optimize data in CMMS to ensure integrity of information needed for proper maintenance of equipment: i.e. location, model numbers, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance activities by reducing frequencies, adjusting scopes, changing assigned lead, etc.
