About The Position

As an Engineering Technician II, the technician supports resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders. The technician will perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management. This role involves troubleshooting plumbing issues, making repairs, and replacing fixtures and piping as needed. It also includes diagnosing, replacing, and repairing minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts, and troubleshooting and repairing appliances and household fixtures. Understanding HVAC systems and performing basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics is also part of the role. Additionally, the technician will repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking, and repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required. Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks is also expected. The role participates actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work. The technician will operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems) and communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions. Performing maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management, safely using hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools, and working using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are also key responsibilities. Following safety guidelines and practices, recognizing and identifying potential safety hazards on the property, and communicating and interpreting guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution are crucial. Adherence to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures and representing Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior are expected. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
