Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and buildings. This role requires assisting in coverage of other shifts when needed and participating in an on-call rotation. The position involves working effectively from a computerized work order system and written or verbal instructions, completing all tasks correctly and in a timely manner, and prioritizing the urgency of work requests. The technician will provide correct and timely maintenance of various aspects of the facility, including the CATV cabling system, assisting with fire alarm testing, and maintaining the HVAC system through preventive maintenance. Additionally, the role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical beds, performing minor repairs, bending and installing conduit, providing light carpentry duties, and checking and repairing lighting systems. The technician will operate power and hand tools safely, follow safety regulations, assist engineering department personnel with projects, and help with inclement weather demands. General maintenance services such as assembling furniture are also part of the duties. The role requires responding to all facility emergency codes in a timely manner and demonstrating respect and regard for patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees. Fostering mature professional relationships and willingly accepting other assignments are expected. The technician will utilize hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably, accurately reflecting time worked in the work order system.
