About The Position

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and buildings. This role requires assisting in coverage of other shifts when needed and participating in an on-call rotation. The position involves working effectively from a computerized work order system and written or verbal instructions, completing all tasks correctly and in a timely manner, and prioritizing the urgency of work requests. The technician will provide correct and timely maintenance of various aspects of the facility, including the CATV cabling system, assisting with fire alarm testing, and maintaining the HVAC system through preventive maintenance. Additionally, the role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical beds, performing minor repairs, bending and installing conduit, providing light carpentry duties, and checking and repairing lighting systems. The technician will operate power and hand tools safely, follow safety regulations, assist engineering department personnel with projects, and help with inclement weather demands. General maintenance services such as assembling furniture are also part of the duties. The role requires responding to all facility emergency codes in a timely manner and demonstrating respect and regard for patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees. Fostering mature professional relationships and willingly accepting other assignments are expected. The technician will utilize hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably, accurately reflecting time worked in the work order system. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid TN Driver License
  • 2 years experience in facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing.
  • Must maintain schedule flexibility, assisting in coverage of other shifts when needed.
  • Will be required to cover on-call in the technician rotation and respond when necessary.
  • Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required.
  • Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required.
  • Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and buildings.
  • Works effectively from computerized work order system and written or verbal instructions.
  • Completes all tasks correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Provides correct and timely maintenance of various aspects of facility.
  • Maintains CATV cabling system throughout the facility when needed and troubleshoots the system.
  • Assists the fire alarm testing company as needed to maintain facility fire alarm system.
  • Maintains HVAC system by performing preventive maintenance on equipment; changes filters, cleans coils, changes and/or inspects belts.
  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains electrical beds; replaces light bulbs; performs other minor repairs as instructed.
  • Correctly bends and installs conduit.
  • Provides light carpentry duties: Installs shelving, and repairs windows, screens, blinds, and suspended ceilings.
  • Installs hardware and locks as assigned.
  • Checks and repairs lighting systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Obtains and replaces lamps correctly.
  • Installs concealed wiring according to codes and procedures.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Operates a variety of power and hand tools correctly and following all safety measures.
  • Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations.
  • Assists engineering department personnel with various projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists with inclement weather demands.
  • Provides general maintenance service to facility personnel, i.e., assembles furniture and accessories.
