Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Engineering Tech / Field Geologist is responsible for performing a variety of assignment that include independent evaluations on construction and environmental sites using standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)

  • Environmental Phase I and II WDNR reporting
  • Groundwater sampling and monitoring
  • Environmental as well as geo technical or construction testing field experience
  • Landfill monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Will perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests associated with geotechnical investigations
  • Attend client site meetings and communicate effectively with client and project teams
  • Work in the field regularly
  • Review project plans and specifications prepared by others
  • Work on one or multiple projects at a time
  • Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
