About The Position

As an Engineering Technician 3 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF Plasma generators. In this role, you will report to one of the Systems Engineering Managers. You will make an impact by supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or logic systems. You will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions. You will conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. You will perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions, and assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. You will use manufacturing test, development or diagnostic equipment including but not limited to such equipment as oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus which may require software skills.

Requirements

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
Must be able to exchange accurate information
Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, water, and heat

Responsibilities
