About The Position

Development programs and specifically program pilots are an integral part of the engineering process. The New Product Coordination team will be responsible for coordinating the required activities to achieve a successful pilot build. This includes but not limited to working with design engineering on build books, hosting daily build meeting, working with materials to order short parts, and coordinating offline work/rework with operations. Communication is key to this role and frequent and up to date information on build status will need to flow to stakeholders at various levels of the PACCAR organization. The hiring level of this person will be dependent upon related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. This position will require a self-motivated person who can operate with minimal supervision, has a strong technical background, can work across multiple engineering departments, can drive results from all stakeholders, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience coordinating/directing production pilot or cross functional activities.
  • Demonstrated professional and successful communication skills with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
  • Knowledge of Creo, PCMS, and Bill of Materials is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering and production teams to exceed expectations in build timing and quality. Including upfront build preparation, online support, and offline completion.
  • Prepare and deliver high quality reports and management presentations.
  • Mentor, provide feedback, and guidance to employees to promote training and development.
  • Coordinate with engineering to identify engineering supplied parts.
  • Compile pilot build books and coordinate plant reviews.
  • Coordinate with Process Engineers to verify process documents are complete.
  • Support pre-pilot build reviews.
  • Provide post build feedback into subsequent Program Go / No Go meetings.
  • Coordinate the documentation of build issues with PLRs and EWI defects.
  • Participate in the FRACAS review boards by providing feedback or validation of proposed solutions.
  • Coordinate and prioritize on-site built support, post build rework and repair.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement to the pilot coordination process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Up to 10% travel can be expected.
