About The Position
Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for an Engineering Superintendent to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. They operate three mines in Canada and Mexico, with a strong portfolio of development stage projects and an early-stage exploration project. Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, located near the town of Matachewan. The recent completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in increased production and strong free cash flow. Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in underground mining engineering, including supervisory leadership.
- Proven track record in mine planning, long-hole mining methods, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Eng. designation in Ontario with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Deswik, VentSim, Excel, and mine planning and scheduling software.
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and safe, efficient mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team, improving productivity, performance, and technical execution across mine operations.
- Oversee short- and long-term mine planning, including design optimization and production forecasting.
- Facilitate planning meetings and coordinate engineering activities with operations to achieve production goals.
- Evaluate systems and mine designs, develop alternative mining methods, and optimize ore extraction, sequencing, and cost efficiency.
- Manage performance, support recruitment and development, oversee budgets, reporting, and ensure compliance with standards, safety, and regulations.
