About The Position

MDA Space is seeking a motivated and talented Engineering Student to join their Processes and Automation department at their Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office. This is a four-month term, with a possibility of extending to eight months, starting in September 2026. The student will be treated similarly to a new graduate, with tasks assigned based on their current level of schooling and experience. The role involves working closely with technologists, technicians, assemblers, and engineers on project teams, ensuring the smooth running of activities, and resolving production or testing issues by coordinating expert support. The student may also participate in process improvements to facilitate colleagues' tasks.

Requirements

  • Completed second year of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Dynamic.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Sense of initiative.
  • Experience in microelectronic production or industrial engineering.
  • Demonstrated academic performance (good GPA [above 3.0]).
  • Bilingual.
  • Must obtain and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

Responsibilities

  • Following training on various production systems, join the electronics production team to ensure the optimization of production activities for all projects undergoing manufacturing and testing.
  • Assist in coordinating the activities of assemblers and technicians, provide a liaison with the design group, and improve production processes.
  • Assist in resolving various issues during production by participating in the Manufacturing Review Committee.
  • In a project environment with schedules and budgets, and under the supervision of an experienced engineer, support production teams and work on developing solutions to improve production processes.
  • Attend team brainstorming meetings and the manufacturing review committee.
  • As a member of the production team, potentially modify manufacturing documentation, design manufacturing tools, and track parts from inspection to assembly and test stations.
