Position Summary We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong manufacturing background to support Engineering R&D initiatives as a Engineering Sourcing Specialist . This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring prototype parts, assemblies, and equipment for new technology development projects. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and delivered on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology or related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain management of machined parts and mechanical components.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, manufacturing equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BoMs, and technical specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of assembly and testing of mechanical tools.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with strong follow-through.
  • Established relationships with domestic machine shops and understanding of supplier capabilities and constraints.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting prototype or R&D environments strongly preferred.
  • Oil & Gas service industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidance to Engineering prior to design release.
  • Offer proactive manufacturing-focused feedback to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to optimize materials, processes, and supplier selection early in development.
  • Serve as liaison between Engineering and Procurement to initiate, manage, and expedite prototype orders.
  • Identify and select suppliers based on technical requirements, capability, quality history, and lead times.
  • Develop and issue RFQs and POs; manage supplier follow-up to meet aggressive project timelines.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers with specialized or fit-for-purpose capabilities.
  • Proactively monitor order status and implement expediting strategies when necessary.
  • Communicate risks, delays, or delivery concerns and drive resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
