About The Position

The Space & Airborne Center within Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) seeks talented Engineering Services Specialist at Raytheon. Our Space & Airborne team located in El Segundo, CA integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, implement them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day there is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate with disciplines and partners to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. As an Engineering Services Specialist, you will support engineering operations through a combination of analytical, project coordination, and technical execution responsibilities. This role typically involves working closely with engineers, program managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects and services. Key responsibilities often include managing engineering documentation, supporting system integration and testing activities, analyzing technical data, and helping streamline engineering processes. The specialist may also contribute to problem-solving efforts, assist with compliance to industry and company standards, and support lifecycle activities from design through production and sustainment. The role requires a solid foundation in engineering principles, along with practical experience in a related field. Professionals are expected to work independently on moderately complex tasks, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively within team environments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with engineering tools and systems are important for success in this position. Overall, this role serves as a critical bridge between engineering depot repairs and operational execution, helping ensure efficiency, quality, and alignment with organizational goals. This position is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA. Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 10%.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics/Data Science or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and communicate effectively as well as being highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, innovative, and a team-player
  • Recording and reporting information, ensuring 100% accountability of material received/stored/shipped
  • Expertise in SAP system, specifically service orders
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with working in teams troubleshooting technical issues in an academic or professional work setting
  • Experience working with large or complex data sets to support engineering analysis and decision-making. Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or exposure to various military platforms for weapons conveyance, such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft
  • Familiarity with data query, visualization, or analytics tools to help identify trends and inform technical recommendations.
  • Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis
  • Experience with inventory practices, warehousing, and inventory procedures as related to material
  • Potential lab or technical experience for possible future support of lab related tasking

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact (POC) for all inventory management for both Spares and Failed Hardware Inventories
  • Spares coordinator responsible for the movement, stocking, and recording of material to and from the Spares Inventory
  • Failed Hardware coordinator responsible for the movement, disposition, and recording of material to and from the Failed Hardware Inventory
  • Perform physical inventory reports as needed
  • Coordinate the scrapping of defective material, from the creation of scrap forms and ESA forms to coordinating their movement and disposal with Property
  • Supporting ad hoc material shipments and ZGROUP transfers through DD1149s
  • Updating the Global Hawk ILS “ARES” database (e.g. RTX Repairs Status, work order creation, etc)
  • Support repair coordinator responsibilities including updating planning, preparing repair package and build history book, coordinating with engineering, quality, and inspectors, providing repair status, part/unit transfers, and overseeing induction/sell-offs
