About The Position

The Engineering Research Coordinator supports the College of Engineering’s research enterprise by coordinating proposal development, contract and industry-related activities, sponsored project administration, and research operations. The coordinator also provides program and financial support, develops and maintains research administration resources and reporting tools, assists with team workload and proposal intake, and leads or supports research-related events and collaborative initiatives that strengthen faculty and industry engagement. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of professional experience in research administration, sponsored programs, grants and contracts administration, project coordination, higher education administration, or a related field
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience coordinating industry-sponsored research activities or working with corporate and foundation partners.
  • At least three years in a position working in higher education
  • At least three years of experience in pre-award research administration, including preparing proposals, developing budgets, coordinating proposal submissions to federal, state, foundation, industry, and/or other private sponsors
  • Certified Research Administrator certification or other relevant certifications
